The consultation programme with u3a members on the Fit for the Future proposals to change the governance of the Third Age Trust got underway on the 22nd January 2024 with the release of the materials for a UK-wide series of presentations on the proposals, and the first presentation in the East Midlands, and indeed in the whole UK, was delivered by Allan Walmsley, the National Vice-Chairman, in Nottinghamshire on the 24th January.

East Midlands Trustee Newsletter December 2023
To read the newsletter follow this link: December 2023 Newsletter |
Since my last newsletter in July, there has certainly been a great deal of discussion by the TAT Board and the Pilot Council of the so-called Fit for the Future proposals.
Now is the time for the members to make their voices heard about these far-reaching and radical proposals and to shape the policies and governance of the u3a movement for many decades to come. Now is definitely not the time for u3as and networks to falter or give up hope
I am here to represent your interests to the Board, so please read the newsletter and feel free to contact me to discuss any questions or comments. John Lewis December 2023

As you will see I have taken over from Jane Pavier as editor of this newsletter. First, our heartfelt thanks go to Jane for producing this newsletter for over two years. Second, the newsletter will now appear every two months. I hope to maintain the same standard of newsletter and invite you all to send me your news, information and photographs regularly. I have been asked to introduce a word count of 300 which I think is a good length and not too difficult for contributing members to achieve. The new deadline will be the 7th of the month. This means that the deadline for the next issue will be 7th April, Please note my email address: [email protected] Maria Gabrielczyk |
