Newsbites November 2020
To view or download November Newsbites or the Handmade Project presentation click the image. Message from the new editor Thank you Lynne for the time you have spent doing the Newsbites! It is not always an easy task. The deadline for material will remain as 15th of each month for the time being, but I will let you know in advance if this changes. I look forward to receiving lots of information from all of you so that Newsbites! continues to be interesting and informative. It would help me if, when sending in articles, you use typeface Arial 10. I have set up a special email address: [email protected] |
At the start of lockdown Josephine Cutts, who leads the Painting classes for Edwalton, Gamston & District u3a, was no longer able to organise art classes at her studio in Edwalton and she came up with the brilliant idea of a multi-disciplinary project which could involve all of the U3A members and not just those who attended her art classes. I am delighted to share with you the Handmade Project, which is the fourth in the series, which has brilliantly been turned into a PowerPoint presentation by Terry Mayhew, their Newsletter Editor, which is going out with the November Newsbites. I hope that you enjoy the Handmade Project
Best wishes, stay safe and keep the news coming. Jane Pavier |

The project is being managed by the Trust’s Research Committee. The plan is to produce a landmark report for publication by the Trust in 2022, so helping to raise the u3a’s profile in our 40th anniversary year.

The East Midlands Regional Conference 2020 - Making a Difference' is to be held on Tuesday 21st April.at the Eastwood Hall Conference Centre in Eastwood, Nottingham. To view the programme follow this link: programme.
Trustee Jean Hogg is very grateful to Stephne Tewson for dealing with the bookings and to the Northamptonshire Network for allowing the use of their bank account. This is very helpful as there is no longer a Regional bank account. The Conference is heavily subsidised by the Third Age Trust. Jean is also very grateful to the group of people who have helped to plan the event. We do hope that U3As from across the Region will send at least one person, follow this link for the booking form.

Trustee Jean Hogg writes: I find it hard to believe that this is the second new year newsletter I have written as your Trustee. How time flies. . . It has been a fascinating year, and I continue to be so impressed with all the u3a members I meet who are so active in developing and promoting the movement and in ensuring that our U3As continue to thrive and enhance the lives of Third Agers.
